Balconies
What is a balcony?
Balcony is a construction component that provides limited access to the outside of a building from an otherwise enclosed interior space. In the context of residential buildings, these components are typically installed in the form of enclosed platforms that are accessed via an external door. They are commonly implemented in loft conversions as well as flat blocks to provide limited access to the outside climate. Railings or half walls built to regulations height provide a safety barrier around the space. There are a handful of different styles of balconies that are implemented in a range of scenarios, the most common of which we’ll look at now.
