Hand Tools
For every trade that creates or modifies components, a selection of tools has been developed over time to allow for the tasks to be carried out successfully. Each trade can often be seen with a toolbox or bag full of the tools that we’d associate with their profession. Whilst specialist equipment is available for each trade, all of us as operators will carry a standard kit with us on a daily basis. The following is a collection of the most common tools that we as carpenters are likely to come across within our career. Some of the tools in this list see more in joinery or cabinetry as opposed to site carpentry. Others are more generalised and can be utilised effectively in a range of different scenarios. That being said, understanding how they're used can aid us as woodworkers in our endeavours.
